Affiliate Program – Let Someone Else do the Job
It is good to see foreign clients tie-up with Indian affiliate networks to carry out different marketing exercises. I wonder if affiliate marketing will pursue such an aggressive development as was noticed in outsourcing sector several years ago. With skilled labor and resources all available in India, different countries in the world will be interested to shake hands with Indian counterparts and service providers.
In a small time period, I have found enormous changes in the regional web scene. The service providers have been experiment with different innovative ideas and solutions. However, affiliate programs have flowed in to this system from outside. Before incorporation necessary changes are very much required to suit various interest groups and partners.
Affiliate program can be viewed as a very useful tool to delegate some work or part of the process to an external agency at reduced cost and labor. The global reach has further added advantages. I will try to illustrate it with an example.
Suppose there is a merchant based in London, which sell antique material, arts and crafts. The agency may have their buyers in any place in the world. But, it won't be feasible for the agency to go to America or Australia and start advertising there. However, with affiliate networks and marketing agencies, the merchant can get a direct hand on the buyers from any place in the world. Therefore, affiliate marketing goes beyond the continental and regional borders and the competition is in just one global world.
Affiliate programs may be suited to different kinds of processes and activities and not only to online advertising or marketing. Its success in online industry has been due to low cost involved in the adverting and marketing process.
